Can I edit properties on the object page?

Yes. Whether properties appear on the object depends on Settings > Editor > Hide object type settings outside of settings.

Properties on the object

When Hide object type settings outside of settings is off, properties show in the header area above the title. You can set dates, pick labels, link people, use text properties, and add new properties from there.

When the setting is on, properties are not shown on the object. Open object settings from the ... menu above the title to view or edit them.

To show properties on the object:

  1. Open Settings > Editor.
  2. Turn off Hide object type settings outside of settings.
  3. Open any object.

Object settings and type settings

Some work belongs in type settings, not on a single object:

  • Add a property to a type, or change its type and options (for example label choices or object select targets)
  • Rename, reorder, or remove a property

Open object settings from the ... menu above the title, or open object type settings from the type dashboard. Click a property to edit it.

The object page is for filling in values. Type settings define the structure.
