On October 27, 2025, Capacities experienced connectivity problems for 2 hours and 51 minutes (from 03:04 pm to 05:55 pm CET). We are deeply sorry for any interruption of your work this caused to you.
Here's what happened, what this means for you, and what will follow from it.
Our service experienced a connectivity failure within our server infrastructure. This fault prevented network traffic from successfully reaching the Capacities servers, making key online functionalities inaccessible to users.
This was an internal system issue. Our engineering team worked immediately to diagnose the root cause and resolve the underlying routing problem. Capacities was back online and fully operational by 05:55 pm CET.
Again, we are very sorry for any problem this has caused you. It's important to us to emphasize that your data is and was safe at any point. No data was lost or corrupted. Due to our offline mode, you were likely able to continue working on your content. However, core features that require a server connection were unavailable, some of those being:
All user data is stored on encrypted disks in a data center in Europe, with hourly replication to two additional European data centers. This connectivity issue did not affect our storage systems or put any data at risk, it was purely a network routing problem that prevented access to our servers.
Our immediate focus is conducting a full internal review of the infrastructure to put permanent safeguards and automatic redundancy into place that prevent this routing issue from ever occurring again. We are prioritizing the reliability of our connection-dependent features to ensure smooth syncing and consistent access.
You can always check the current status of our systems at "status.capacities.io".
If you are still experiencing any issues accessing the platform or logging in, please don't hesitate to write us directly at "team@capacities.io".
Again, we apologize for any interruption of your work. We are working full steam on a better experience every day. Stay tuned!
